Please Read, I Need Help With Wax On My Quilt!!

I received one of those candles that has the light bulb in it and you place the wax cubes on top.  I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and was just thinking how much I really love this.  It makes the house smell sooo nice.

Well, I went to move it for Thanksgiving and boy did I get a surprise.  I had it sitting on one of my good quilts and apparently, the wax melted down over the lid or else it has a crack in it or something.  I have a big wax spot now on my quilt.  Here is a picture, you can see the dark spot.

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this wax out of my quilt.  It went all the way through the quilt.  I just hasn't been my week!!  I would sure appreciate any help!!  Cindy

place one layer of a brown paper bag on top of the wax spot and iron it with a hot iron (preferably not your good one).

I would put an ice pack on the top of the quilt and scrape as much as possible with a butter knife. Once that is done I would use paper towels and the iron to absorb and wax left on it. The paper towel worked really well on my husbands wool sweater. Did you every find out what was making your plant into a dancing plant?

Fill a large enough zip lock bag with ice cubes and sit it on top of the wax, after the top wax hardens you should be able to crack it off of the quilt. Then place several layers of folded up paper towel under the spot on the quilt, remember make it several layers thick and then do the same over the top, several layers thick. Then place a hot iron on the top for about 20-30 seconds, remove the iron and check to see if the wax has melted thru to the bottom towels, repeat as the bottom towels absorb the melted wax. It may take a few times to get it all out and remember to change the bottom towels as they fill with the melted wax, also protect the hard surface you do this on. This should get it all out.

Oh thank you to everyone! I am going to wait until I am alone and work on getting out this wax. Will have my grandchildren today!

Still no luck with my dancing plant. I sure wish I knew the answer to this and if there is something still in the house, it would show itself while my husband is home!! Makes me crazy to even think about it!!!!
