Apple Butter

My apple butter is all finished and canned.  It didn't take as long as I had planned.  I thought it would cook until 9:00am this morning, but last night around 7:00pm it was done.  I was afraid if I left it cook all night, I might wake up to a burned up crock pot. I had read on another recipe to crack the lid a little to thicken it up and maybe this speeded up the recipe.  I really didn't feel last night at 7:30 to finish the canning, but I did it anyway.  We get up at 4:00am so by this time of night I am worthless!  We had it on toast this morning and it is delicious!  I had to force my little granddaughter who stays all night on Fridays to taste it.  After chasing her around the house, she finally took a tiny lick of the spoon and said "Oh that is good, Mamo".  She eats nothing, so this was the ultimate compliment!
It doesn't take much to make me happy!
